It's a very precious thing when a friend turns into a soulmate. That's exactly what happened with Shachi and Bauzel who overcame many hurdles before tying the knot at a charming wedding in London. Here, bride Shachi shares some beautiful highlights of the celebrations.

How They Met
Shachi shares, “We met through a common friend when I was 18 and still at college. Initially friends, our relationship evolved into love over time. We faced certain misapprehensions from our families due to the fact that we were from very different cultures, but every roadblock only made us stronger. Finally, after eight years of being together, we tied the knot”.

The Proposal
The best proposals are the ones that celebrate your own special bond. “Two years ago, after securing the blessings of both our families, Bauzel proposed to me while walking along the banks of River Cam, Cambridge. It was a route we had walked together a million times before. The solitude of the occasion and our countless memories of the place added so much value to our emotions. It was the most perfect proposal I could have ever imagined”.

Wedding Venue
“We visited many venues, including hotels, in London, such as manor houses and barns that doubled up as wedding venues. However, when we visited the Rosewood London hotel, it just felt right! We both fell in love with the hotel and the people there who helped us with putting together our wedding. When our close friends visited the hotel, they instantly said that the hotel was very ‘us.' It is important that you feel comfortable at your wedding venue and that it reflects a bride and groom's personalities.”

Wedding Planning
“We chose Motiejus to capture our photos, and they shot each moment and emotion in the most beautiful way. Being a creative professional, I designed our wedding invites. We opted for only digital invites as we wanted to be eco-friendly; plus, they also allowed us to be more creative. Additionally, we designed a website that contained all the information our guests would need, this helped us to manage the RSVPs.”

Wedding Functions

Wedding
The vintage atmosphere and old-world charm of the Rosewood Hotel was accentuated with candles and white floral arrangements everywhere. The bride ditched a heavy lehenga for a timeless white Sabyasachi Mukherjee creation with intricate chikankari work. She accessorized her look with Cartier jewellery and family heirloom jewels, and flaunted a soft bun and demure makeup for an elegant visage. The groom wore a black bandh gala ensemble by Sabyasachi too.
